We offer therapy sessions at our New Paltz office, through in-home visits, and via virtual sessions. We also partner with area hospitals to provide care after a hospital stay.

Caregiving Moment

Many factors can contribute to speech or language issues. Some challenges begin in childhood, while others may arise following an illness or injury. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) are available to assist you.

Speech therapy for adults helps improve communication, voice control, cognitive skills, and swallowing difficulties caused by conditions like strokes, brain injuries, Parkinson's disease, or lifelong speech issues. Treatment typically begins with an evaluation by a speech-language pathologist (SLP) to create a custom plan with sessions held one to two times per week.

What to Expect:
  • Initial Evaluation: A therapist assesses your speech, language, or swallowing and discusses your personal goals.

  • We develop a personalized and targeted treatment plan.

  • Sessions can take place in-person at our practice or virtually.

Common Conditions Treated
  • Stroke and Brain Injury: Manages language difficulties resulting from Apasia (trouble finding or understanding words) and cognitive concerns (like memory loss or poor focus).

  • Progressive Diseases: Manages speech and swallowing changes from Neurogenic disorders such as Parkinson's disease, ALS, or dementia.

  • Voice and Speech Disorders: Treats stuttering, slurred speech (dysarthria), vocal cord issues, or volume, quality, pitch, and fluency control.

  • Communication Goals: Assists with accent modification, public speaking, or professional communication skills.
